Performing the Pandemics

Stemming from one creative experience that emerged in London during the lockdown period of early 2020, called “Emergency Festival”, this article is a result observations based on practice, centred around festival group multicultural, interdisciplinary movement-based researchers and dancers created, curated, participated in. It explores possibility making radical alterity out hitherto previously established ideas territory, time, community, using performative writing as practice-based analysis scheme. Employing concept “communitas” by Victor Turner (1969) to approach phenomenon dance through distance, examines importance emergence collaboration way forward, epistemologically looking at method creating sustaining communities are longing for sense home times change. The divided into three parts, focussing aspects space, all while embedded nature movement its effect practitioners, onlookers, concluding with contemplation place varied mediums forward study it global disruption.
